Day 1 – Hands of God – KVIA Studios

July 16th, 2008

Sandy Salinas, my brother Chops, and I arrived at KVIA Studios around 10am. Arturo Portillo was there to greet us. Since the studio already had lights, we didn’t need to bring a lot of equipment in. Karen Moore, Benny Ontiveros, and Monica arrived shortly after 10am and we all walked into the KVIA studios. Benny began to assemble the JVC110HD camera with the Redrock M2 adapter with Nikon Lenses while I went over the scenes with Karen and my brother snapped stills for us.

We started filming and finished with a lot of time to spare. Since Benny was shooting to a Firestore Hard drive, we didn’t have to capture anything. Wow. I really wish I could have had this thing 3 years ago when we did SANTOS. We are still shooting with a miniDV backup just in case. As much as I love hard drives, they sometimes can’t be trusted. We loaded the footage in and I started editing right away. I love this new work flow!

We finally created a blog…

July 2nd, 2008

I had thought about it for a really long time and I always wanted a place to dump all of my current ideas and thoughts. So then I was reading some articles online and stumbled across this: Free Lancers: Why You Need a Blog. The article didn’t really convince me, but it did have a quick link to this site. I didn’t even have to sign up since I already had a Gmail address. So all in all, it was pretty easy. Yup, so I made a blog. Now lets see how long I can actually keep this up.

And since I don’t really believe in posts without some type of media to keep peoples attention, I will attach MindWarp Entertainment’s new intro. Created by Neal Barenblat and Carlos Corral.
